The Lagos State government said the Oshodi bus station was not abandoned but was not fully functional either. The state is in talks with interstate transportation companies to use the facility.

This was revealed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday, during an interview on Arise TV.

“The station is not abandoned. We ordered it and gave it to a dealership and there are buses there. We want it to be a hub of intercity and intra-urban transport. People going in and out will use it.

We still have conversations with big transport companies coming to Lagos but they don’t want to use the place. Rather, they want to continue using Ojota, Jibowu among others, but we say no, they have to use the Oshodi terminal because it has enough free space for luxury buses ”, said Sanwo-Olu.
