As gasoline and diesel prices continue to rise in June, vehicle fuel efficiency is the focus.
Diesel, super and special now all cost more than Dh4 per litre, according to the latest prices set by the government.
The National takes a look at five of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the road in the UAE.
Suzuki Dzire
Cost-conscious motorists love driving the Suzuki Dzire because of the value it offers.
The Japanese car gives drivers 24.12 kilometers per liter (km/l) and buying a brand new one will set you back around Dh36,900.
Suzuki Swift

In second place is another Suzuki, the Swift, which gives 23.75 km/l, according to Drive Ninja, a comparison site in the United Arab Emirates. This makes it an attractive choice for those trying to get the most value out of their fuel expenses.
Pricing for a brand new model starts at just under Dh49,000.
Suzuki Baleno

Fuel-conscious motorists could also do much worse than take a look at the Suzuki Baleno, which offers 22.35 km/l.
To buy a new Baleno, you should expect to pay in the region of Dh45,900.
Toyota Yaris
Breaking Suzuki’s hold on this list is the Toyota Yaris, which gives motorists 22 km/l.
Buying a new one will cost just under 60,000 Dh.
Toyota Raize

The Toyota Raize is another car popular with car owners conscious of what they spend at the pumps as it offers around 19 km/l.
Be prepared to pay around 57,000 Dhs for a brand new model.
