Parañaque terminal prepares for influx of passengers

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), a major transportation hub in Metro Manila, will increase the number of buses this weekend as it prepares for a peak in passengers heading to the provinces for the holidays of All Saints’ Day.
PITX general affairs chief Jason Salvador said he expected the number of passengers to increase to 65,000 per day, from 50,000 to 55,000 currently. The number of city and provincial buses currently operating from terminal 1 800, and PITX has called on transport officials and transport operators to increase that number, Salvador said Thursday.
“Towards the weekend, since we anticipate an increase in the number of passengers, we are preparing around 2,000 to 2,200 buses,” Salvador said during the Laging Handa briefing. âLEILA B. SALAVERRIA
