E-bus AC from T2 to BKC and South Mumbai

From Tuesday, one can board an AC electric bus from Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 (T2) to areas such as CSMT, Nariman Point, Gateway of India, Bandra Kurla Complex, highlighted reports. On Sunday, electric bus services were launched by Aaditya Thackeray, the state’s environment minister.

It inaugurated 60 zero pollution and silent AC buses which crossed the Bandra-Worli maritime link. According to reports, Lokesh Chandra the best general manager, the buses will operate via the sea link while welcoming passengers daily from the airport in south Mumbai.

The initial route is expected to depart from T2 via the Western Express Highway, Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Nehru Planetarium, Pt Paluskar Chowk, Haji Ali, Marine Lines via Trident Hotel, Nariman Point, Gateway of India and CSMT. The other route will run via T2 to BKC via Western Express, Kalanagar and many bus stops via BKC, according to accounts.

However, in the midst of this, Thackeray said he didn’t want double-decker buses phased out, which is why BEST has proclaimed tenders for 200 AC electric double-decker buses. By 2022, electric buses will be purchased, of which 1,400 will be single-stage AC electric, 400 midi AC, 100 mini AC and 200 double-stage AC electric. The authorities are seeking to make 100% of its electric fleet in the years to come.
