Deployment of free Wi-Fi begins on Metro Vancouver and SkyTrain – BC buses
Free Wi-Fi is launched on select buses, SkyTrains, a train station, and a bus loop in Metro Vancouver as TransLink launches its plan to bring wireless internet to the transit system.
The program will begin with six RapidBus and three SkyTrains, at Edmonds Station and Carvolth Exchange in Langley.
TransLink says it plans to complete the deployment of the entire system in 2026.
Shaw’s free Wi-Fi is already available on SeaBuses and at SeaBus terminals.

TransLink will offer free Wi-Fi to public transport users from 2020
âFree Wi-Fi means our customers can use their transit time for leisure, work or to better connect with family and friends without spending their money on data charges,â said Kevin Quinn, CEO of TransLink, in a press release.
Public transport users will be notified of the availability of Wi-Fi on board and how to connect to the system.
