AAI will commission new terminal at Jabalpur Airport by March 2023


The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will commission a new terminal at Jabalpur Airport in Madhya Pradesh by March next year, according to an official statement released on Saturday.

The new terminal will be equipped with world-class passenger facilities and will be able to accommodate 500 passengers at peak times, according to the IAA statement.



Spread over an area of ​​1,15,315 square feet, the terminal building will have three air bridges, an advanced baggage screening system, a modern food court in the landscaped area and well-planned parking for more of 300 cars and buses.

“The proposed terminal will greet passengers with glimpses of vibrant Gond paintings, local handicrafts, murals and popular tourist destinations in Madhya Pradesh,” he said.

According to the statement, not only the terminal building, the entire airport is also being upgraded.

The runway is being extended to make it suitable for A320 type aircraft, a new 38 meter high air traffic control tower is being built, a new fire station and auxiliary buildings are being built. being constructed under this project at Jabalpur airport, he mentioned.

The whole project will cost Rs 412 crore.

“The tentative completion date for the project is December 2022 and the new terminal is expected to be commissioned by March 2023,” the statement said.

The AAI, managed by the Center, owns and manages more than 100 airports across the country.
