24/7 terminal operations, highway surveillance as Pampanga prepares for Undas
The province’s main transport hub, the Mabalacat City Passenger Terminal Complex (Dau Bus Terminal), will remain open 24/7, but commuters should expect southbound traffic at the Mabalacat Viaduct. Candaba, because only two lanes are open.
PAMPANGA, Philippines – The province of Pampanga has begun operations to clear roads, repaint niches and graves, and clean-up campaigns in most public and private cemeteries and memorial parks and their host communities.
Central Luzon Police are also on full alert as they prepare for the influx of visitors to the province, while the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation will implement its intensified traffic management operations in anticipation of the increase in traffic volume.
High volume toll stations – such as Balintawak, Mindanao, Karuhatan, Valenzuela (Paso de Blas), Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Sta. Rita, Pulilan, San Simon, San Fernando, Clark South, Tarlac, Tipo and Subic Freeport Expressway – will be closely monitored.

Mabalacat Town Mayor Cris Garbo issued Executive Order No. 31, prescribing guidelines for public and private cemeteries.
From October 29 to November 2, the mayor said, the gates to public and private Mabalacat memorial parks would be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. only.
Garbo also offers free repainting of graves and niches and free candles per immediate family of the deceased.
In Angeles City, disaster risk reduction management office chief Rudy Simeon said staff would be deployed to the city’s three main cemeteries: La Pieta, Holy Mary Memorial and Sapalibutad Public Cemetery.
Medical stations will also be placed at each entrance. The cemeteries will be open from October 26 to November 5, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Commuters using the Candaba Viaduct should expect heavy traffic, as the NLEX said only two southbound lanes would be open due to repair work. – Rappler.com
